Quotes
These are special to me, because it is a collection of things said about me and my art. I am putting a copy here in case my dA account is taken down. Why do I fear this? Hell, payment processors alone should be enough to scare the crap out of you as a creator. And it can happen quick, in one day seven years of work and 4000+ images will be gone. And it is not a matter of "if" with second and third tier "special interest social media" it is a matter of "when."
There will likely be a day that dA or even Patreon are sold and they are purged. That "adult content" flag you think is you being helpful to the platform will be weaponized against you as an artist.
In my conversations with Sylvia, our team writer, I realized how vulnerable a position I built myself into. Nowhere is safe, buy Google is huge and has some of the better content guidelines for artists - at the moment. You can't monetize here, but that is sort of not the point.
If I get my accounts get wiped off Deviant Art and Patreon, what happens to me and my work? And this doesn't even have to be a content strike either. A rebranding could do the same thing. A sale of the company to overseas venture capitalists could do the same thing. A greater crackdown by the cancel state could do the same thing.
So this is a reckoning.
Doubt all of this? All I need to say is Tumblr.

On one level it's a throwback to when comics/graphic novels told good stories (The Killing Joke, Demon in a Bottle, Maus, et cetera); but on another it's art as well composed as anything by Frank Miller or Todd McFarland."
It honestly and truly baffles me you haven't been picked up by a comics studio. I know Marvel wouldn't touch you with a ten foot pole given it's current direction, but IDW, Boom! and the like should be flooding your inbox. Don't know what you do to keep body and soul together, but it SHOULD be this!
In any event, you are the sole reason checking DA daily is part of my routine. "
