Lots of long lunches and discussions today. There is a sense some entertainment companies have become cultural recycling centers, endlessly recycling things that once had meaning and use into less and less interesting iterations and variations of the same object. And they grind these ideas and characters into the ground, ultimately burning them out and making them meaningless. Batman = Corn Flakes.

What I seek are first time "origin" experiences. That feeling you get when you never saw something before. The only "legitimacy" we get are from the fans. Otherwise, we cut a new path.
